Explore Denver Zoo where preservation is included with admission; 365 days a year.

Order your online tickets, print them at home and head straight to Denver Zoo main gate for entry.

A $1 service charge will be added to the price of each ticket.

  • No refunds, exchanges or transfers.
  • Tickets available online for purchase until 2:00 p.m. daily; at zoo box office during regular business hours.
  • You will be asked to select a date for your visit, however you are welcome to use the tickets anyday.
  • Tickets expire December 31st of the year they are purchased in.
  • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a person 16 or older.

Course Description: Introduction to the biomes, species and cultures, connected with Denver Zoo's conservation projects. Students will gain insights into Denver Zoo's conservation areas of focus and learn what makes these areas biologically unique. Participants will also engage in discussions about the political, economic and cultural climates of these areas and how these factors shape and determine Denver Zoo's conservation strategies. Particpants will examine and discuss the long-term impacts that Denver Zoo strives to achieve in these areas.

Themes:

  • Investigate climate patterns and plant/animal adaptations characteristic of different biomes.
  • Use wildlife on zoo grounds to investigate wildlife of the biomes on zoo grounds.
  • Explore current research and conservation issues relevant to different biomes.
  • Learn about current community-based conservation solutions that address relationships between local people and the environment.

Brownie Girl Scout - Pets Bunk

Ages - 7-9

Brownies Pets Bunk, is an Overnight Adventure for Brownies. At this Bunk, Brownie Girl Scouts will earn their Pets badge and stay overnight in Denver Zoo's onsite Gates Education Center.

Bunk with the Beasts overnight adventures offer a more intimate, personalized exploration of the zoo. Each Bunk with the Beast overnight adventure includes different activities specific to the theme, but you can count on an active, fun-filled experience that includes:

  • A guided zoo tour focusing on animals relating to the Bunk theme
  • Animal encounters (you will not touch a tiger, but you will get up close and personal with some of our education animals).
  • A variety of educational games and activities, including use of night vision scopes.
  • An opportunity to see the zoo at night, without the large crowds!
  • Scout Bunks are tailored around Girl Scout or Cub Scout badges, journeys or achievements. 

Important information:

  • Must have at least 10 Brownies to register
  • Children must be 5+ to attend bunk
  • This bunk does not include dinner or evening snack, but will include breakfast.
  • Registered participants are free to explore the zoo on your own after the Bunk ends.
  • ONE scout leader per troop/pack is free.

Brownies Senses Bunk, is an Overnight Adventure for Brownies. At this Bunk, Brownie Girl Scouts will earn their Senses Badge and stay overnight in Denver Zoo s onsite Gates Education Center.

Elephant Encounter

This adventure is for guest 12 years of age and older.

Get to know more about Denver Zoo's beloved elephants while discovering a different side of Denver Zoo's newest exhibit Toyota Elephant Passage. Participate in an elephant training session after their daily demonstration, and then go behind the scenes and gain some insider knowledge from the animal keepers who care for these unique, charismatic creatures every day.

  • Please note that because of safety regulations, guests will not receive direct contact with the elephants, but rather will get a closer look than public perspective allows with exclusive behind-the-scenes access and interactions.
  • Program registration does not include admission to Denver Zoo-admission tickets must be purchased separately.

Restrictions

  • This adventure is for guest 12 years of age and older.
  • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an paying adult 16 years of age or older.
  • Elephant Encounter will occur rain or shine.
  • Denver Zoo reserves the right to re-route or cancel any tour due to animal health or safety concerns. In the event of cancellation, efforts will be made to reschedule you on a later date.
  • You must check in at Guest Services 15 minutes prior to the start time of your adventure. The behind the scenes nature of this experience makes joining the group late not possible.
  • There is no access for service animals in the Elephant Encounter area. Please call 720-337-1400 for more information.
  • This tour is not recommended for persons with hay allergies.

Cancellation Policy:

  • A cancellation fee of 50% will be charged for cancelling with less than two weeks' notice.
  • A cancellation fee of 100% will be charged for a missed adventure.

Family Bunk - Wild Lights, Wild Winter

Wild Lights, Wild Winter, Bunk with the Beasts Overnight Adventure. Join us for dinner, then go out and experience the wonder of Denver Zoo Lights as a family.

When you're ready to warm up inside, we'll be waiting with hot cocoa and fun crafts and activities that explore how wild animals adapt to winter habitats. Wake up in the morning to a warm breakfast and a before-hours private tour of the zoo.

Family CampOUT: Dino! Safari

Family CampOUT Dino! Safari: Bunk with the Beasts CampOUTs are an overnight adventure for your family at Denver Zoo. Do you have what it takes to survive a night amongst the dinosaurs? Step back in time, when these famous giants roamed the Earth as you join us for a special Dinos! Safari CampOUT.

Worried you won't be able to see the Utahraptor hunting in the night? Your safari guide will have night vision scopes ready as we explore the Zoo after hours to discover what dinosaurs and present-day animals have in common.

Bunk with the Beast overnight adventure includes different activities, but you can count on an active, fun-filled experience that includes:

  • Private tours of the Zoo after hours
  • Campout dinner on zoo grounds
  • Campfire treats
  • Live Animal encounters (you will not touch a tiger, but you will get up close and personal with some of our education animals).
  • Camping out underneath the stars in our safari tents.

Group Bunk - Africa Predator Versus Prey

Africa: Predator v.s. Prey, a Bunk with the Beasts Overnight Adventure. At this Bunk, your zoo safari will bring you face to face with predator and prey! Discover their adaptations for tracking the herd or escaping the hunt. Prowl with the pride and run with the pack as you view lions, wild dogs, banded mongoose and other residents of the majestic African savanna.

Adult Chaperone: $55 per adult (One adult per 10 children is free)

Rainforest Wonders, a Bunk with the Beasts Overnight Adventure. Investigate the layers of the rain forest, as you travel from the forest floor up through the canopy. Learn about the amazing animals that inhabit dense tropical jungles, the interconnection of species, and how important conservation efforts are to these beautiful but fragile environments.

Meet long time Denver Zoo resident Mahali the hippo during this up close and personal experience. Participants will have exclusive access to the outdoor hippo habitat in our new encounter space, opprotunities to learn from his keepers how they care for him, and help toss food to Mahali! Do you have what it takes to hit a four foot target from just a few feet away? Start practicing your aim!

Junior Girl Scout Habitats Bunk, is an Overnight Adventure for Junior Girl Scouts. At this Bunk, Junior Girl Scouts will learn about Animal Habitats and stay overnight in Denver Zoo s onsite Gates Education Center.

Bunk with the Beasts overnight adventures offer a more intimate, personalized exploration of the zoo. Each Bunk with the Beast overnight adventure includes different activities specific to the theme, but you can count on an active, fun-filled experience that includes:

  • A guided zoo tour focusing on animals relating to the Bunk theme
  • Animal encounters (you will not touch a tiger, but you will get up close and personal with some of our education animals).
  • A variety of educational games and activities, including use of night vision scopes.
  • An opportunity to see the zoo at night, without the large crowds!

Penguin Encounter

This adventure is for guests 8 years of age and older.

Explore Denver Zoo like never before! The Penguin Encounter is a 60 minute guided tour providing guests with an intimate look at how Denver Zoo cares for these charismatic creatures and how to protect them in the wild. The encounter includes a guided tour through Denver Zoo's Bird World exhibit, behind the scenes access and an up-close encounter with one of the zoo's African Penguins.

  • Program registration does not include admission to Denver Zoo-admission tickets must be purchased seperately.

  • This adventure is for guest 8 years of age and older.
  • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying person 16 years of age or older.
