Early Care is every weekday morning your child is in camp. Early Care is between 7:30am-9:00am in the Gates Conservation Education Center at the Zoo.

Please remember to choose the same week for Early Care as your camp week.

Late Care (4:00pm-5:00pm)

Late Care is every weekday afternoon your child is in camp. Late Care is between 4:00pm-5:00pm in the Gates Education Center at the Zoo.

At 123 years young, Denver Zoo has seen a lot of changes since it was founded in 1896! Once, solely a menagerie to exhibit exotic animals, Denver Zoo has evolved into a champion for wildlife. We focus our daily efforts on animal care, conservation, and education. Join us for a night exploring the evolution of Denver Zoo and the zoo industry. The Power Pack: Power up for this active class that explores animal "Zooper Powers" - fantastic features animals have that help them survive. Discover how things like sharp claws, keen eyesight, tough scales, powerful wings and fast feet turn animals into super heroes in their environment. Power Pack campers will also discover their own super powers, and how they can use them to help animals!

Zoo Engineers: Every animal needs a habitat. Take a closer look at the Zoo homes of some of our favorite animal residents to discover how their spaces give them each what they need. If you built a Zoo, what would your animal homes look like? We'll still need to ensure the animals get everything they need, so put on your zoo engineer hat if you're up to the challenge!

Zoo Stealth Squad: Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to track some of the world's most covert creatures. How do you track nearly invisible and unheard-from animals, you ask? You'll have to sharpen your science skills and powers of observation to discover crafty creatures and treacherous tricksters. Make sure to snag a spot to this elusive camp before they all disappear. At Denver Zoo, we care for over 4000 different animals, each with unique needs. Just like our zookeepers, you'll get to know the animals, their stories, and learn how we care for them.

Bio-Mimics: Some animals are stealthy, others have extraordinary healing capabilities, but the best of the best copy and duplicate the remarkable abilities found in others! Explore some of nature's bio-mimics, and learn how people also use animals as inspiration. What can we learn from a giraffe in order to build a better bridge? Why is the extreme durability of a rainforest seed important for saving elephants? Imagine how you'd incorporate the best adaptations of zoo animals into something that can help us all!

Zooper Villains and Monsters: What makes a villain? Why are some animals looked at in a negative light or considered monsters? Why are vultures, bats or aye-ayes perceived as odd, scary or even  "ugly?" Some animals have strange qualities, but they aren't necessarily bad. Help re-write the story of animals who have been painted as villains, simply because they are "eccentric." Are these animals actually monsters, or simply the misunderstood geniuses of evolution?
