Recipients may select from assisting with an elephant training session, feeding a hippo, visiting our rhinos behind-the-scenes, getting to meet a penguin or one of our other exciting animal experiences! Every encounter offers participants an exciting and exclusive way to get close to Denver Zoo³ amazing animals.

AIP - Regional Ecology Lab Fee

Graduate Program - AIP

Regional Ecology: Rocky Mountain Field Investigations: a 3 credit summer course offered by Miami University/Project Dragonfly with experiential components provided by Denver Zoo.  Participants will explore aspects of ecology, animal behavior, community engagement and conservation planning through the lens of rocky mountain grasslands.  With bison as the focal species for the exploration of grassland conservation, participants will use the strategy of conservation photography to tell their person stories and perspectives around grasslands. 

  • This course typically runs 6 days at the Rio Mora Wildlife Refuge and Conservation Area in Northern New Mexico. 
  • This class can be taken for credit or audit. 
  • Those participants take the course for credit will complete web-based coursework from late May through mid-November.

Come celebrate all of the wonderful mothers at this special Girl Scout Bunk & Breakfast at Denver Zoo! This bunk provides a rare opportunity for multiple Girl Scout levels to experience an overnight at the Zoo together! All participants will stay overnight in Denver Zoo's Gates Education Center, and wake up early to a delicious Mother's Day meal!
